Mr. Murphy was born September 3, 1934 in Bradfordsville, KY to the late Jesse and Gladys Raley Murphy and was a United States Army veteran. He retired from Byerly Ford and was a member of the American Legion Post #220 and an Honorary Kentucky Colonel.
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents and sister, Tillie Mae Dever.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 28 yrs, Wanda Murphy; children, Richard Murphy, Kevin Roederer (Samantha), Phyllis Riggs (Steve), Debbie Driver (Doug), Becky Wright (Larry) and Denise Roederer; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Monday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Old Liberty Cemetery in Bradfordsville. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again after 9:00 am on Monday at Schoppenhorst.
