Sharyn McCormick

Sharyn Louise McCormick, age 78, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 20, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Donald and Dorothy Thompson. Sharyn was a member of the Saturday Night Ladies Club where she enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She also enjoyed visiting casinos. Sharyn loved game shows, Hallmark movies and board games, especially Yahtzee and Scrabble. Her love for Little Debbie Christmas cakes was well known and her family made sure to supply her with enough to last throughout the year. The last few years of her life found her staying close to her home due to the Covid pandemic. She will be remembered as a special lady by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen McCormick; parents Donald Thompson (Marjorie); sister, Carol Stumph; nephew, Wayne Thompson and great-nephew, Jordan Wells.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her siblings, Debbie Baker, Tony Thompson and Donna Hornbeck (Keith); nieces and nephews, Amy Baker, Pat Williams (Kaci), Bryan Hillard (Kristie), Austin Grant (Erin), Aaron Thompson (Danica) and Amber Thompson; treasured friend, Susie Rummage as well as a host of great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.

Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) is in charge of arrangements where the family will honor Sharyn’s wishes of cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Sharyn.
