Mr. Thomas Stuart Anderson, Sr., age 81, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, August 5, 2022. Mr. Anderson was born in Louisville, KY on January 23, 1941 to the late Leonard Stuart Anderson and Helen Tate Anderson. He was a dedicated member and volunteer at Little Flock Baptist Church where he has passionately served as a Sunday School Teacher. He proudly served in the United States Navy and retired from General Electric.
Mr. Anderson spent his life in service to others. He traveled the world doing his part to make it a better place through his missionary and his military service. He has also assisted in the building of water purification systems in some of the poorest places on earth and served as a volunteer in building a, then, new Little Flock Baptist Church. He loved to help others and spend time with his family. In every respect, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Denny Anderson preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 60 years, Lana Cardwell Anderson; children, Kathryn Woodhouse (Mike) and Thomas S. Anderson, Jr. (Susan); grandchildren, Mathew (Cortney), Adam (Erin), Johnny (Kelsey), Kristin (Art), Noah, Ashley, Zachary and Valerie (Michael); 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Polson and a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 12, 2022 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Little Flock Baptist Church.
