Thomas Floyd Franklin

Rev. Thomas “Tom” Floyd Franklin, age 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. He was born in Indiana, on December 29, 1948, to the late Charles Franklin and Louise (Brook) Franklin. Tom worked for Ford LAP, Fern Valley Road until his retirement after 30 years of service. He was a member of Pond Creek Baptist Church where he was very involved and dedicated to his religious life. Tom was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, he enjoyed spending time remodeling and repairing various things and he also had a green thumb he could grow anything he was always very proud of his vegetable gardens. Tom was a wonderful and dedicated husband, a great brother, and friend, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew Steve Ward.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 39 years, Darlene “Powell” Franklin, his sisters Marjorie Strickland, Mary Brown (Ron), Sandy Lockhart, and brother Charles “Sunny” Franklin (Nancy), along with a host of sister and brother -in -laws, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 12:00 EST at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd).  Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, January 1, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m., EST, again Tuesday January 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. EST until time of service at 12:00 noon EST. Burial to follow at Rock Creek Church Cemetery in Clarkson, Kentucky at 1:30 CST.
