

Mr. Thomas “Tom” Jerry Poulter, age 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. He was born on March 25, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky. Tom was a retired painter, refinisher of furniture and kitchen cabinets. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, Papa, brother and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing. He belonged to Fern Creek Sporting Club for many years. He would fish, trap shoot and participate in shooting matches which he won many trophies. Tom made many friends and memories there. He had a very good sense of humor and was always telling funny stories to all the kids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Special thankyou to Hosparus and the nurses and doctors for the great care they gave to Tom.
He was preceded in death by 2 sons Billy Poulter and Johnny Poulter, stepparents Allen and Pearl Poulter, stepsister Thelma, stepbrother Jim Poulter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Anna (Sissie) Poulter, and son Robert (Bobby) Poulter, granddaughter Kimmy Lee(Chris), Ivy Poulter, Jessy (Aaron) Puckett, grandsons Randy (Heather and Tyler Poulter, sister-in-law Annie Poulter, nieces Lamonda Watson (David), Darlene Holtheiser (Charlie), great-grandchildren Drake, Rayce, Alena, Landyn, Jaxon, Waylon, Ariel, Jasmine, Colt, and a host of other dear family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway) from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
