Walter Edward Cook, Sr.

Mr. Walter Edward Cook, Sr., age 88, of Mt. Washington, formerly of Ohio County, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on January 12, 2023. Mr. Cook was born on April 21, 1934, in Flint Springs, KY to the late Ethel and Eunice (Daugherty) Cook. Mr. Cook retired from General Electric, Bldg. 3, after 34 years of service. He was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church and a mason with Fern Creek Masonic Lodge #955 F. & A. M. He enjoyed traveling out West, fishing, camping, motorcycles, and woodworking.

Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, brothers, Junior and Olson Cook; sister, Mary Daugherty; infant daughter, Sandra Cook; granddaughter, Ashley Cook; sons-in-law, Tony Metcalf and Bobby Britain; and his canine companion, Lucky.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia (Harvey) Cook; children, Walter Cook, Jr. (Faye), Donnie Cook, Donna Metcalf, Charles Davis (Debbie), Greg Davis (Lanice) ; and Tammy Britain ; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. The family wishes to thank Lema, Becky, Tiffany, and the Chaplain with Hosparus, nieces, Helen and Vickie, and neighbors, Lee and Bonnie.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 1-7 pm and Tuesday from 12 pm until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus.
