Mr. Walter “Lou” Louis Ramsey, age 92, of Louisville, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 6, 2026. Mr. Ramsey was born in Louisville, KY on October 4, 1933 to the late Tallie Weatherford Ramsey and Walter Lee Ramsey. He retired from General Electric after 36 years of dedication, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, he was an avid golfer, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, his son, Kenneth Lee Ramsey and his sister, Jewell D. Nash preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 72 years, Helen Earle Ramsey; sons, Michael “Mike” Ramsey (Cindy) and Robert Gregg Ramsey (Suzanne); daughter-in-law, Debbie Ramsey; grandchildren, Craig, Kristen, Derek, Kyle, Heather and Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Graham, Cash, Connor, Mollie, Leighton, Hallie, Eva, Carter, Blake, Trenton, Taylor and Aubrie; brother, Ronald A. Ramsey and a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday, February 16 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
