William Thomas Young

Mr. William Thomas Young, age 78, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Young was born in Bradfordsville, KY on June 15, 1946 to the late Thomas Lee Young and Lillian Irene Young. He was a devoted member of Little Flock Baptist Church for over 65 years. He was a dedicated employee with General Electric, a graduate of their tool & die program and spent a large part of his career in engineering support. Mr. Young was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving the country he loved. He served his community on the Board of Directors for Jefferson County Farm Bureau. He lived his faith, cherished his family and loved farming.

In addition to his parents, his sisters, Frances Peak and Delores Violette preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 55 years, Becky Kay Young; children, Scott Young (Terri), Rachelle Young-Barker, Erica Robards (Jeff) and Kyle Young (Lindsey); grandchildren, Kayla Shoemaker (Matt), Tyler Barker, Randall Young, Maranda Barker, Russell Young, Jaden Barker, Megan Robards, Lane Robards, Wyatt Robards, Noah Young, Isaac Young, Toby Robards, Evie Young, Millie Young, Silas Young and Chloe Young; great-grandchildren, Abi Shoemaker, Levi Shoemaker and Lily Shoemaker and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Little Flock Baptist Church (5500 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, KY) with burial and military honors to follow at Hebron Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, KY) and on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of his service at 2:00 pm at Little Flock Baptist Church.
