Bobby Allen Garner

Bobby was the first born son of the late Herman and Mary Garner of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Bobby was survived by his two brothers, Barry Garner and Blake Garner. Bobby was survived by his 3 children: daughter, Velvet Walker (spouse Craig Walker), daughter, Nena Garner, son, Brad Garner (spouse Katey Garner). Bobby was also blessed with many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Bobby had a great love for his hometown of Stone Mountain, Georgia. He graduated from Stone Mountain High School in 1960. From an early age he worked with automobiles. First cleaning up, painting and selling cars. He also opened and operated a Sinclair Service Station for a couple of years before opening his own used car lot, G/G Motor Company, in Stone Mountain, Georgia in 1968. He worked buying and selling cars diligently for many years until closing the business and retiring in the early 2000’s.

The true love of Bobby’s life was his Heavenly Father and the Primitive Baptist Church. He was baptized and joined Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia at the age of 26. He was a faithful attendant there and visited regularly many other Primitive Baptist Churches in the metro Atlanta area for many many years, later moving his membership to Mount Paran Primitive Baptist Church in Social Circle, Georgia.

Bobby’s love for the Lord was evident throughout his life by him frequently turning his conversations into a sermon. His favorite thing to do in life was to talk about his Lord. In his later years as dementia took over his memory, he forgot many things, but he was still quoting scripture and talking about the Lord until the day he passed. He never forgot his love for the Lord or His amazing grace.

The visitation will be on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 302 Camp Creek Rd. Lilburn, Georgia, from 1:30 - 2:30pm with the Funeral Service beginning at 2:30pm with John Melvin, Pastor, officiating. Committal service will be immediately after in the Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
