

Dale was born in 1951 in Miller, South Dakota to Nova and Louis. He grew up on a farm with his three siblings; Mary, Sue, and John where they raised livestock and grew assorted grains. Dale graduated from Northern State College in December of 1973 with a bachelor of science in education. It was during this time Dale met his wife, Elizabeth, and they married in 1974. Upon graduation from college, Dale became a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps and served for three years in active duty. After several postings with the Marines, Dale and Liz decided to settle down and raise a family outside of Atlanta, Georgia upon completion of his enlistment. After the military, Dale worked for the Georgia Department of Labor for just shy of 30 years.
Dale had an avid passion and appreciation for nature and the outdoors. He spent many days hiking in the woods and finding waterfalls. He loved to share his passion for the outdoors with both friends and family. Dale enjoyed greatly working with his hands and honed a skill for woodworking and as an overall handyman. He had a deep appreciation for music and attachment to sports.
Dale is survived by his wife, Liz. His two sons and daughters-in-law, Garrett and Sonia along with Robert and Carrie. His brother, John. And also, his granddaughter, Sofia.
