

On Sunday, May 23, 2021, Jason Michael Buckner passed away suddenly at the age of 45. Born in Decatur, Georgia, Jason was better known as “DJ Jay-Sun,” an early member of the Atlanta hip hop music scene. He was also the owner of More Dusty than Digital Technical Consultants and Elemental Records in Atlanta, Georgia. Jason was preceded in death by his sister Jennifer Frances Buckner, grandparents Fred and Frances Pete of Copley, Ohio, and James and Etta Buckner, of Akron, Ohio. He leaves behind and will be desperately missed by his parents, Jerry and Terrie Buckner, brother Jeffery, and niece, Tyler, all of Lawrenceville, GA, Uncle and Aunt, Phil and Barbara Pete of Brandon, FL, numerous cousins and close friends.
Growing up Jason was regularly active playing youth league baseball and football. He won numerous trophies competing in BMX bike racing. He spent many hours trail riding on his motorcycle and developed a passion and expertise for skateboarding that he pursued for many years. Jason was a quiet guy with a sly sense of humor, penchant for tennis shoes, compassionate spirit, and a soft spot for dogs. His constant companion was Milo, a Teacup Schnauzer who Jason ensured was always dressed appropriately for the occasion.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, at 11:00 AM with live stream available at www.saintlaw.org/livestream/ Private inurnment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, GA.
