

Jesse William Dooley, age 88, of Whitesburg, GA passed away on May 6, 2026. He was born on Oct 13, 1937 to Minnie Lee Dooley in Atlanta, GA. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Jesse is survived by his wife, Nora Dooley of Whitesburg, GA; his two daughters, Lynn Woody (Troy) of Buchannan, GA and Tanya Carver (William) of Fort Collins, CO; four grandchildren, Devin Whitworth (Tiffany), Allen Whitworth (Denise Craw), Dean Carver, Rose Whitworth; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, three brothers, and three sisters.
Throughout his life, Jesse spent more than 30 years working for the Federal government, including his time in the military as infantry and paratrooper as well as 29 years doing computer programming for the Environmental Protection Agency. Along with work, Jesse was also active in multiple organizations including two Masonic lodges–Grayson Masonic Lodge #549 & Mountain Park Lodge #729– the Yaarab Shriners in Atlanta as part of their motorcorps, the Traveling Men masonic motorcycle group (charter member), and the SSGA which is a senior golfers association.
Besides Jesse’s involvement with the Masons and the Shriners, his love of bowling, golf, and motorcycles brought him an extensive list of accomplishments. One of his great personal achievements was successfully riding his motorcycle in all 48 contiguous states as well as riding to Alaska through the Yukon twice.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on May 16, 2026 at Eternal Hills Funeral Home at 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039. The visitation will be from 10am–12pm with the funeral service at 2pm. Immediately afterwards, a committal service will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039.
