Larry Heard

John Eric Powell (Ricky), of Snellville, Georgia entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2017 at Scepter Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, LLC. He now joins his two sons Anthony and Erasto as well as his mother and father who all preceded him in death.

He was born on November 28, 1953 in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Eric and Cleopatra Powell. Ricky is survived by his children’s mother Ramona, his children Ricardo, Ishebah, Ikedah, and Ireka; his siblings, Joan, Barbara, Trevor, Thelma and Yvette; his grandchildren, Iyanna, Alexia, Mackenzie, Aiden, Jabriel, Ineisha, Ieishah, Jahmond, Jahvarious, Imani, Jacob; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Ricky was a very spiritual man. He believed in and lived a Rastafari culture, being very aware of his physical and mental capacities. This wisdom was shared to family and friends because he always had a way with words. His teachings and counseling truly affected whoever received them and will live on through eternity.

Ricky was also very proud of his family, making sacrifices as needed to ensure his family was taken care of. He always stressed the importance of family and would go beyond limits to be there for whoever needed him. His family values were of the utmost importance to him and was apparent to anyone in his vicinity.
