Leopold Green

Victor, as he was known, was born in Mount Industry, St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies to Herbert and Justine (Lewis) Green. He attended Mount Industry Primary School and after graduation he joined an apprenticeship program for autobody repair. He migrated to the United States in 1968 and settled in Connecticut. Victor was an entrepreneur and philanthropist who was the successful owner of Green’s Auto Body in Hartford, Connecticut for over 40 years. He loved people and life, and was extremely generous and thoughtful. Victor received an award from the West Indian Social Club for being a local business leader who served the community well. He was a member of North United Methodist Church in Hartford, a member of the West Indian Social Club, Sportsman Athletic Social Club, and the Lion’s Club. His hobby was restoring older cars.

Victor is survived by his beloved and supportive wife Marjorie, his 6 children, Comalita Elliott (Lorenzo) of Windsor, CT, Sharon Green of Hartford, CT, Leon Green of Windsor, CT, Brian Green (Dina) of Plainville, CT, Andrew Green of Windsor Locks, CT, and Christopher Byrd of Maryland, 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a sister Bernice Barrett of New York, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Victor was predeceased by his daughter Patricia, his parents Herbert and Justine Green, his brothers Melvin, David, and Rupert.

His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023. Wake from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at the Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039, followed by the Order of Service at 11:00AM.
