

Mrs. Margaret Jeanine (Peggy) Jackson Wright, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on September 28, 2015. Mrs. Wright was born on November 28, 1932 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. She graduated from John Carroll High School in 1950 after spending 1 ½ years in Chile, South America, with her family, while her father was working there. Peggy married, the love of her life, James Joseph Wright, on September 26, 1953. She was a lifelong member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society devoted to caring for those less fortunate within the community. Upon settling in the Atlanta area in 1970, she enjoyed a closed affiliation with the Catholic communities of Sts. Peter and Paul, St. John Neumann, St. Monica and most recently St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandy Springs. In 1986 she and her sisters, Carolyn and Mary Ruth took a trip of a lifetime to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia to experience the many blessings and messages from our Blessed Mother where she has appeared for many years.
Mrs. Wright is preceded in death by her beloved husband James Joseph (Jim) Wright; her parents, Ollie Wayman Jackson and Catherine Elizabeth Carlin Jackson; a sister, Carolyn Jackson Godwin and many other beloved family members.
She is survived by her five children, Jeanine Marie Wright Monaghan (Malvern/”Skip”) of Alpharetta, Ga., Julie Ann Wright Taylor (Burr) of Lilburn, Ga., James Joseph Wright, Jr. of Norcross, Ga., Christopher William Wright of Marietta, Ga. and Mary Carol Wright Wethern (Tom) of Roswell, Ga.; 7 Grandchildren, M. D. (Malv) Monaghan, III (Jodi), Brian Christopher Monaghan (Holly) , Jonathan Adam Taylor (Lisa), Ashley Marie Taylor, Carley Marie Wethern Rex (Mac), Charles Dean (Chad) Wethern II, Matthew Christopher Wethern and 9 Great-Grandchildren; Her sister Mary Ruth Jackson Huffman of Moody, Ala.; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church at 11:00am on Friday, October 2, 2015, the family will receive friends and family immediately following the Mass at a luncheon in the downstairs church hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society through St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
