Michael (Mike) Earl Hudson, age 63, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on February 1, 2026 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on February 23, 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia to Wallace Earl Hudson and Peggy Breithaupt Hudson.
He is survived by his sister Debbie Hudson of Snellville, uncle Charles C. Breithaupt, Jr. of Clayton, cousin Chuck Breithaupt and wife Carissa of Marietta, cousin Julie B. Speyer and husband Steve of Madison, and additional cousins in metro Atlanta and beyond.
Mike grew up in Marietta, Georgia and was a 1980 graduate of Joseph Wheeler High School. At Wheeler, he was the Manager for the Varsity Football team and a member of the car club. A skilled mechanic who enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles, chainsaws, and anything with an engine, Mike was always tinkering or repairing something for someone. He was also quick to lend a hand to help his friends with their home and yard projects, be it taking down trees or just general carpentry. As an outdoorsman, he so enjoyed fishing at local lakes and streams as well as being an avid marksman who enjoyed many types of target shooting, especially at very long distances. Truly, Mike was a man of many hobbies, ranging from assembling model cars and boats to being a grill master. A devoted son, his family will always remember how diligently he helped care for his parents and their properties during their declining health. Mike, we’ll miss you!!
