Mona Brown age 88, of Athens Georgia, departed this life to glory on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm on Monday, January 29th at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Snellville, Georgia. The funeral service will take place at 2 pm, in the chapel of Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Gwinnett Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lawrenceville immediately following the funeral service.
Mrs. Brown was born in Wales Township, Michigan on October 14, 1929, and immigrated to Canada where she married her husband, Thomas Brown and they together raised their family. After returning to the US, they spent most of their 65 years together in Andrews, North Carolina, prior to living in Athens, Georgia for the past eight years.
Mona was preceded in death by her son Douglas (Krista) Brown, and is survived by her loving husband Tom, her sons, Dennis (Sharon) Brown of Harrison TN, David (Cheryl) Brown of Trinity AL, her daughter Mary Lynn (Greg) Munago of Lawrenceville GA, Krista's loving husband, Jamil Elayan of Athens, GA, and several beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
