

Penny was born on March 31, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was known for her warm heart, caring spirit, and love for family. Penny dedicated many years of service as a Gwinnett County school bus driver, where she touched the lives of countless children and families. She also operated an in-home daycare for teachers’ children, a role she truly adored and where she shared her nurturing nature with those in her care.
Penny had a passion for shopping and decorating and found great joy in creating a welcoming home for her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she shared with everyone who knew her.
Penny was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Anthony Dale Crook.
She is survived by her loving sons, Shawn Crook and his wife Amy, and Larry Jay Crook; her cherished granddaughters, Baleigh and Emma Grace; her brothers, Wayne Buice and Steve Buice; and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Penny’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and devotion to her family. Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, located at 3700 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
