Was thinking about Steve this morning and realized what a great friend he was and how much I missed our weekly talks and visits. We talked about Christ from time to time, so I feel comfortable saying he is with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Oh my God, I just found out… I’m so sorry. He was one of the best people I’ve ever known. I was always worried about him—he used to call me all the time to check on me and my family.

I had been trying to reach him but never got through. He once told me he was reconnecting with his daughter and granddaughter, and how happy that made him.

I’m truly heartbroken. Rest in peace, Stevie. You’ll always have a special place in our hearts. Me and my family will always love you. 😢❤️

When Steve was your friend, he was a loyal friend. I think of him frequently, of the good times and out talks. He loved Christ, so I will see him again in Paradise.

My Condolences go out to Stacy, Emma, Pat, David, and all other Family and Friends. 

Our only consolation is knowing that our beloved Steve is with Jesus now! Although I am missing him tremendously, as a lot of others are, I do feel Joy, knowing that he is no longer suffering with the pain he endured for so many years!

I miss the weekly phone calls that we shared for many years....in which I really got to know his heart. I miss the singing....although he was being humorous, he actually had a talent for singing. Whenever I would call him back after a missed call, he would answer the phone by singing, then say....."Wait a minute, let me turn this radio down"....It was alway funny, with a different song every time......and I never got tired of the it...always made me laugh. 

He also had a talent for imitating other classmates to the point that when one of those fellas called me, I started laughing as I thought it was Steve, only to find out it was the actual person! ( I wonder if he ever did me?)

The humor was delightful, but he also had a serious side. He loved people; especially old friends....high school and police friends. He loved his family so much, as well as Buffy, his cat. 

Losing a great friend leaves a hole in your heart....but I know we will see him again as Christians. 


I met Steve my Senior year at East Atlanta High School….and saw him at our class reunions.  Very kind and caring about others!  Steve’s service as a police officer shows the type of man he became.   My thoughts are with his family at this time.

Our hearts are broken with the loss of a true loyal friend to our family.  We met Steve at a yard sale at my Daddy’s house.  (Paul Savage). He was there looking for some Elvis records .  We all talked and had a good time, and at that moment, we became the best of friends!  He spent a lot of time with my Daddy, which my Daddy appreciated so much!  My Daddy was a fireman for 30 years , so they had a lot to talk about! Sharing police and firemen stories!  Steve remained a true loyal friend to our family as years passed , and we will be forever grateful to him for his loyal friendship .  We cherish the times we had will him and will miss him more than words can express!

I met Steve December 7th 1972 the day he saved my life. He was a true Hero, he was my Hero! I will so miss our conversations. RIP Stevie Boy

Rest easy Brother Steve. You will truly be missed my good friend. I’m so grateful that my kids got to know you as Uncle Steve. You were one of the good ones. Love ya sir. 

Rest in peace! Steve was a joy over the years . I can hear calling and saying you are my favorite aunt!! He gave much in his service to the Atlanta  Police Department!

Steve was a very unique and special person who was loved and admired by so many !
He was more than a friend to me, he was like a brother!  I always called him Stevarino , which he always got a big kick out of it.  We had a lot of great times going to record shops , antique shops ,yard sales, as well as lunch and dinner.  We also enjoyed just hanging out sometime at either his house or mine.
There are just no words that can really express what a dear friend he was to me.  He will be dearly missed!

Steve was a wonderful cousin.  I believe that he cared deeply for his family and friends. I will always remember his fishing stories and his encouraging words. I'm sorry that I can't make it this weekend, because I just started a new job.

Steve was one of my great friends, we talked often about various things and at times we discussed Jesus. It is comforting to me to know that Steve and I had the same perspective when it came to Christianity and we both had the same goal. Steve just beat me there. I will see you again one day in Paradise my brother.

I attended East Atlanta High School with Steve.  At our recent 55th year reunion, everyone was so upset to hear that Steve was gravely ill.  Steve had kept up with so many of his classmates, and it was apparent how much affection everyone had for him.  I greatly respected Steve for the life of public service he pursued as a police officer.  Putting his life on the line to protect members of his community was just one way that Steve demonstrated his patriotism and love for his fellow man (and woman).  Plus, he had a great sense of humor.  Steve’s was a life well lived and we are lucky to have known him.  My deepest sympathy to his family.

Steve had a baseball card collection that my boys still talk about.  He always took the time to look at their cards and pretend they had something special too.  They still have their collections and they are 38 and 40.  Steve was special and he touched our lives.

Steve was a great friend, not just a fellow police officer. We spoke with and visited one another often. I will miss him greatly, however, i am certain he is with Christ at this moment… I miss you brother. 

Steve was an amazing friend to so many from EAHS.  He would call me to check on me and say hi. From the comments, looks like he called many of us.  He is going to be missed by many of us. Rest in Peace brother Steve aka Stevie Boy.  ❣️❣️❣️
