

Samuel Clinton Rouse passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 90 on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was surrounded by his family and those who loved him. Clinton was born in Atlanta, Georgia to James Aubrey Rouse and Eugenia Curtis Rouse on October 27, 1934. He grew up in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta. He attended Murphy High School where he graduated in 1952. He married Marian Erma Mills his high school sweetheart on October 30, 1953.
He was a staff sergeant in the Air National Guard Reserves for eight years while also working at the Southern Bell system now AT&T for 33 years. After retiring, he returned to work for another 10 years at EDS Electronic Data Systems and completed a double career by age 62. He was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He loved his family and friends dearly. During his career, he enjoyed climbing telephone poles, traveling to other states during times of inclement weather emergencies and working on rooftop satellites at car dealerships. He ultimately moved into a managerial position in the Corporate offices of AT&T. Clinton was active and enjoyed the outdoors, boating, inventing, and fixing things during retirement. He was known as Mr. Fix It! Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marian Mills Rouse, and his sisters Marcelle Rouse Jones and Miriam Rouse Cannon. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Rouse Bache, son-in-law William Hugh Bache Jr., granddaughter Brittney Rouse Stephens, son-in-law Tyler Stephens, great-grandchildren Davis and Emerson Stephens. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 16 at Eternal Hills Funeral Home in Snellville Georgia. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with the memorial service following at 1:00pm. There will be a brief graveside visit at the same location.
