

Alan Kowalewski, 65, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Hartford Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on July 4, 1960, in Southington, the fourth son of Geraldine (Ryden) Mueller of Southington and the late Francis (Frank) Kowalewski. He graduated from Southington High School, Class of 1978.
Alan was employed by Trumpf Inc. in Farmington for 30 years as a service engineer, where he was known for his hard work and dedication until his retirement. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing and golfing and took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard where he enjoyed hanging out with his many friends and brothers.
Alan had a quick wit and a light hearted sense of humor, making his house the place to be. He was equally renowned for his generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to friends, family, and neighbors- whether it was fixing a leaky faucet, offering advice on home projects, or simply being there in times of need; embodying the true essence of a kind-hearted community member.
In addition to his mother, Alan is survived by his two brothers, Gary Kowalewski and his wife Carmella of Middlefield, and Michael Kowalewski and his wife Melissa of Bristol, as well as many good friends, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Alan had a deep love for his devoted dog Woody who was always by his side and accompanied him everywhere he went. He was predeceased by his father, his brother Steven Kowalewski, his nephew Austin Kowalewski, and his step-father Karl R.F. Mueller.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Calling hours will be prior to the service starting at 10:30 AM. Burial will be held privately with the family. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Alan’s memory.
