

WATERBURY- Mr. Andre “Andy” O. Normandin, 80 was reunited with his beloved wife of 55 years, Peggy (Wiggins) Normandin on May 15, 2014 while holding the hand of his grandson at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS Unit.
Andy was born on July 12, 1933 in Waterbury, son of the late Victor and Simone (Darchen) Normandin. He spent his life helping others, sharing stories, spreading joy and leading by example. As a lifelong devoted parishioner of the Shrine of St. Anne , Andy was one of the parish Trustees for the last twelve years. He was a member of the choir, the Holy Name Society, the Friends of St. Anne, and was the leader of Sr. Yvonne’s workshop for many years. He was named Franco American Mayor for the Day of Waterbury.
Andy retired from Timex Corp. in Middlebury where he worked for over 30 years and had worked for Wheeler Electronics. He attended St. St. Joseph’s Academy in Abiline, TX before meeting the “red head”. He coached little league baseball, and enjoyed playing baseball, football, basketball and golf. He also enjoyed boxing and fishing. In his free time, he liked to go for boat rides aboard the Blue Bonnet on Bantam Lake and go on nature walks at White Memorial with his wife Peggy. He attended countless sporting events and activities of his children and grandchildren.
Andy leaves his children, Valerie and her husband Bill Conway of LaPorte, TX, Pamela Roberts, Jeffrey Normandin and Lisa Normandin Krewson all of Waterbury; his 13 grandchildren Jennifer, Andrea, Jesse, Sarah, Stephen, Elizabeth, Crystal, Heather, Amy, Jeffrey, Andre, Marco, and Mateo; and his 15 great grandchildren. Besides his wife he was predeceased by two infant daughters Ann Marie and Andrea Jean Normandin.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday 9 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott to The Shrine of St. Anne for Mass at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 8 PM
