Anna Giampaolo

Anna Giampaolo, 83, of Waterbury, CT passed away on January 28, 2020 at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington CT. She was born in Asti, Italy on July 1, 1936 to the late Luigi and Adelaide (Martinette) Penasso.

Anna leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years Charles D. Giampaolo; her daughter Lisa Giampaolo; her brother Luciano Penasso; nephew Charles Salvatore, his wife Carol; great nephew Michael Salvatore; great niece Catherine Salvatore; as well as her beloved family in Italy.

Anna was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate home, was a very talented dressmaker and passionate about gardening. Anna and Charles enjoyed many trips to Italy, performances at the Metropolitan Opera and day trips to visit museums and view the foliage. She was a big fan of the UCONN Women’s Basketball team and never missed a game.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family. Anna loved animals and they loved her, especially her beloved cat Mika. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in her memory to the Best Friends Animal Society: www.supportbestfriends.org.
