

He was born in Bristol, CT on March 20, 1929 to the late Henry and Alma (Rancourt) Baillargeon. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married his late wife Carmella in 1952 and after living in Bristol for a few years they settled in Southington in 1959 where they started their family. Art was a tool maker by trade and worked as a master mechanic for Pratt and Whitney retiring in 1987. He was a man with steady ambitions and busy hands. Art was a supporter of Southington Football, Grid Iron. He was known to be the "go-to guy" for mechanical issues in the neighborhood as well as being able to fix just about anything. He enjoyed woodworking and the great outdoors, especially his times on Eagle Lake in Maine, wilderness camping with his wife and children. Many trips were had canoeing, fishing and spending quality time with his family to disconnect from everyday life. He was a determined and hardworking man who could always be relied upon when someone was in need.
Art is survived by his four children, daughter Kelly (Donald) Charette and sons Kirk Baillargeon, Kerry (Shari) Baillargeon, and Kyle (Sharon) Baillargeon. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Leah, Jeffrey, Jessica, Sasha, Kylie, Melissa, DJ, and Brian as well as his great-grandchildren, Ava, Millie, Wes Arthur, Lily and Octavia. He also leaves behind a brother Bobby Baillargeon and a sister Joanne McBain. He was preceded in death by his three brothers Norman, Henry and Roland. Arthur's family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to his caregiver Lana, for the tremendous care and concern shown to him over the last two years.
His family will receive friends and visitors on Friday September 27, 2024 from 3-6 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington. A funeral service will be held promptly at 6 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
