Charles "Buster" Gooding

Charles “Buster” Gooding, 82, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on July, 3, 2015 at Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was the husband of Joan (Ouellette) Gooding. Born January 5, 1933 in Bucksport, ME he was the son of the late Clarence and Mina (Cyr) Gooding.

Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Black & Decker.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Sandra Adams and husband Robert, Patricia Schoonmaker, Tamora Gooding and partner Nancy Delaney and Joni Pratte and husband Pierre; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Adams, Kate O’Toole, Ryan and Brad Schoonmaker and Alexander and Nicole Pratte; five great grandchildren, Charles Adams, Lily and Emerson O’Toole and Kennedy and Ryker Schoonmaker; two brothers, Ray and Robert Gooding and a sister Joyce Petrolito along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Phyllis Schaub.

His funeral will be held on Friday, 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CT Children’s Medical Center, Cardiac Unit, 282 Washington St., Hartford, CT 06102.
