

Charlotte was born to John and Sophie (Pawlowska) Rukowicz, in Shenandoah, PA on April 19, 1911 where she spent her childhood with her five younger siblings. Charlotte later moved to Hartford where she and her husband raised their four children. She most recently moved to the Orchards in Southington several years ago, where she enjoyed playing bingo, attending parties, participating in church services, and knitting especially for the ?Blankets For Babies Club?.
Learning to knit on popsicle sticks at the age of three, Charlotte was known for the many afghans and blankets that she lovingly knit for others over her many years.
She is survived by her son, Leonard Kadel and his partner Beverly Montei of West Hartford: her daughters Joan LaRose of Southington and Theresa Brajczewski, her sons-in-law, Adam Brajczewski and Joseph Villano: her brother Alexander Rukowicz: all of Wethersfield: and her sister Wanda Shemo of Clinton, 10 grandchildren ; MaryAnn, Michael, David, Monica, Catherine, Eileen, Jennifer, Vincent, Vivian, and Charles; her 15 great-grandchildren; David, Adam, Melissa, Joshua, Gregory, Erin, Christina, Taylor, Kyla, Michael, Colleen, Nicholas, Benjamin, Connor,and Rose along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Frances Villano and grandson Paul LaRose.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday June 22 at 10 AM at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington. Donation may be made in her memory to Parkinson?s Research Foundation P.O.
