Clara T. Cote

Born August 9, 1927 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Skolastica) Rykowski.

Clara also known as "Mighty Mite" was obsessed with golf. She was the Senior Club Champion at the Southington Country Club. She was an avid reader especially of nonfiction history and biographies. In 2008 Clara visited London with her daughter and granddaughter to see the historical sites she read about. She was a member of the Lady Falcons Nest 307 and a fan of the UCONN men and women's basketball teams. But most of all she loved her husband, daughters and grandchildren with all her heart.

In addition to her husband she leaves her daughters, Christine McManus and husband Michael of Southington and Celeste Cote-Estrada and husband Orlando of NY; three grandchildren, Alyssa Marie and Michael McManus and Emma Estrada; a sister Helen DiStasio of Middlebury along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Edward, Benjamin, Steve, Theodore, Stanley, Henry and Richard Rykowski and sister’s Mary Bennard and Theresa Hoppe.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 10a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA, 02241. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington is assisting with the funeral services.
