Claude Marie Barthelmes, 85, of Southington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Claude was born on February 10, 1939, in Manhattan, New York, a daughter of the late Paul and Marie (Matthieu) Lessard. She was the beloved wife of Michael Richard Barthelmes for 60 years.
Claude was employed at GE/United Federal Credit Union for many years as the Head Teller. She embraced life; she was an avid reader, belonged to 3 golf leagues, loved music, dancing, traveling, vacations at the beach especially in Florida and Ogunquit, ME. She was loving, kind, charitable and strong. Spending time with her cherished family made her heart complete and gave her the greatest joys in life.
She will be dearly missed by her family; husband Michael, children Lisa Smith and her husband Jason of West Granby, Susan Barthelmes-Johnson and her husband Steven Tarca of West Hartford, and Paul Barthelmes and his wife Christina of Greensville, SC, 8 grandchildren; Celynna, Tyler, Anne Marie, Justin, Sarah, Caroline, Isabelle, Harold Jr., great grandchildren Ridge, Parker, Harper Ann, Michael, Cedric, Logan, James, Elijah., several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Yolande Casey and Diane Sirois.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Claude will be held on Friday, February 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Dominic – St. Luke Parish, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
