Concetta LaPorta

She was the wife of the late Frank P. LaPorta, her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, who passed away in 2002.

Concetta was born on March 4, 1916 in New York City, New York, daughter of the late Charles and Marianne (DiZinno) Lanosa. She was the co-founder of Discount Desk Company in Waterbury, where she worked until she was in her 90’s. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Concetta loved to travel and was a member of the Cheshire Senior Center.

She is survived by her two sons Frank Charles LaPorta and wife Kathleen (Nackowski) of Cheshire, and Charles Anthony LaPorta and wife Maria (Renzi) of Southington, grandchildren Albert LaPorta and wife Nancy, Lori (LaPorta) Creto and husband Robert, Angela LaPorta, Marissa LaPorta, and Darleen Warner. She also leaves 5 great-grandchildren, Albert LaPorta II, Anthony LaPorta, Ava Creto, Hailey Creto, and Jonathan Warner, a great-great-grandson Avery Warner, and a loving sister-in-law Marion (Salvador) Lanosa of West Palm Beach, FL.

Concetta is predeceased by four brothers, Dominic, Charles, Anthony, and Francis Lanosa and four sisters Edith Lanosa, Carmella DiFloria, Margaret Graziosa, and Jennie Fiore, her loving son, Albert LaPorta, who passed away in 1959 and a great granddaughter Kristen Warner.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 19, at 10:30 am at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St. Plantsville. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 9- 10 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
