
He was born October 11, 1928 in Waterbury a son of the late Dennis and Mary E. (McCarthy) Sullivan. David was a graduate of Lewis High School and served his country during the Korean War with the US Army. He was employed for over 30 years with CL&P/North East Utilities, retiring in 1990. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church, past president and a member of the Legion of Honor with the Polish Falcons Nest 307, American Legion Post 72, the International Order of Redmen and was a former Captain of the Marion Fire Dept. Besides his wife Mary Anne, he is survived by 4 children, Kenneth Sullivan and his wife Crystal of Plantsville, Kathleen Mikulak and her husband Leonard of Plainville, James Sullivan of Southington and Marlene Carbone and her husband David of Plantsville; 7 grandchildren, Shannon Sullivan, Peter, Lauren and Erica Mikulak, Vincent, William and Jacqueline Carbone; 2 brothers, John Sullivan of Southington and Thomas Sullivan of N. Grosvenordale; 2 sisters, Mary Savage of Plantsville and Sr. Dennis Marie Sullivan,SSJ of Hartford and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Joseph, William, Roger and Stephen; 3 sisters, Anne Grise, Esther Sullivan and Helen Fox.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 8:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, to St. Thomas Church for a mass at 9 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
