Dennis Russell

Dennis Russell, 72 of Southington passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, March 20, 2020. Dennis leaves behind his daughter, Colleen Guertin and husband David (South Windsor, CT), son Aaron Russell and wife Shreya (Seattle, WA), son Michael Russell (Shelton, CT), and grandchildren Caylee & Graham Guertin. He also leaves behind his twin brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jackie Russell (Greenville, SC) as well as a large family of nieces and nephews. Dennis is predeceased by his wife, Christy Ann Vining Russell, his parents Philip and Laura (Deziel) Russell, brother Benoit Russell, and sisters Annette Russell, Helen Sargent, Aline Conway, Diane Harmon and Mary Pauline McIsaac.

Dennis was born July 27, 1947. He grew up in Prospect, CT where his family owned and operated the restaurant Russell’s Barn. Dennis attended Wilby High School in Waterbury. Dennis received his bachelor’s degree from University of New Haven. He went on to enlist in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam war. During this time, he received his master’s degree from Golden Gate University. After the air force, Dennis got a job working for Aetna insurance company where he worked for over 45 years. Dennis loved watching the Yankees and cheering on the Cleveland Browns.

A memorial service for Dennis will be held at a later date.
