

He was born Nov. 6, 1933 in Southington son of the late Henry J. and Florence (Mongillo) Badgley. He retired in 1990 from SNET where he worked for 37 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy as 1st class Petty Officer on the USS Worcester. He was a member of the American Legion Kiltonic Post #72, the Falcon?s Nest #307, the Sons of Italy, the SNET Retired Assoc. Management Social Club, a former volunteer firefighter for Southington Fire Dept. Engine Co. #1 and Co #2 for a total of 27 years of service. He played the Saxophone for 50 years with the Frank Wielgosz Band and many other bands. He was an avid golfer and played with the Brother Bills at Southington Country Club.
Besides his wife he is survived by 2 daughters, Beth Bechard of Boston, MA and Donna Fuller of Wallingford, 2 grandchildren Vanessa and Ian Fuller and great granddaughter Isabella, a step son Jason Darmofalski and wife Kym and step grandson Hunter, a brother Henry ?Brud? Badgley and wife Maggie, a sister Joyce DellaVecchia and husband Michael all of Southington.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Miles and Richard Badgley.
The Funeral will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours will be Sunday 4-7 p.m.
