

She was born in Andover, MA to Raymond and Mary (Casey) Hoyer and attended Villa
Augustina School, Golfstown, NH and St. Patrick H.S., Lawrence MA. She was a Registered
Nurse and graduated from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in Lowell, MA and attended
University of Rochester, NY. She worked at Mass General and Bon Secour Hospitals and then
at nursing homes and personal patient care while raising children. Edith also lived in
Framingham, MA, Ashfield, MA, Shelburne Falls, MA, and wintered in Port Orange, FL.
Edith was a remarkable seamstress and enjoyed church, cooking, volunteering, reading, pets,
tag sales, crafts, gardening, NFL games, travel, dancing, and being secretary, Mother of Twins
Club in Framingham. She is predeceased by her former husband, James J. Ryan, their infant
son, Kevin, and great aunts Agnes and Teresa Casey, Methuen, MA. She is survived by
devoted husband Allan F. Miramant, 5 Ryan children: James of Colrain, MA, Daniel of Northfield, MA, Helen of Boston, MA, Michael of Ponte Vedre, FL, David of Southington, and their families; including 9 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. She will be greatly missed!

The Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St, Plantsville, on Wednesday, February 21. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers Edith suggested donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
