

Floyd Alger, 87, of Southington, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in the comfort of his two daughters at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. He was the devoted and loving husband of June (Angelone) Alger for 62 years.
He was born on August 19, 1937 in Southington, son of the late Russell and Sylvia (Campagnano) Alger. Throughout Floyd’s life he always had an interest in sports-baseball, tennis, horse betting at OTB, but one things for certain, you were always able to find him on the golf course-his true passion.
Family was everything to Floyd. Holidays spent together, family dinners, and weekly calls from his loved ones is what he cherished and looked forward to the most.
In addition to his wife June, he is survived by his two daughters Laurie Kobles and her husband Bruce of Bristol, and Christine DelBuono and her husband Sal of Southington; his sister-in-law Ann (Catanzaro) Alger; his grandchildren who lovingly called him Pop; Sheena Welch and her husband John of Bristol, Marisa Gauthier and her husband Evan of Higganum, Matthew DelBuono of Southington, and Josh Kobles of Burlington; as well as his three great-grandchildren Nico, Owen and Olivia who he adored and loved tremendously.
He is predeceased by his brother Ernest Alger.
His family will receive visitors and friends on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 9 -11:00 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will immediately follow at 11:15 AM at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
