
Mrs. Fitzner was born in Newark, NJ on December 9, 1909 daughter of the late James A. and Bertha (Michael) Jacobs. She has been a Wolcott resident since 1959. For over 35 years she was a devoted employee of Howland Hughes Store in Waterbury where she was in head of the handbag department and known as ?the handbag lady.? She recently received her 50 year pin from the Order of the Eastern Star and had been a member of Mill Plain Union Church.
She is survived by a daughter Janice Emons and her husband Russell ?Russ?, a daughter in law Sandra Fitzner, all of Wolcott, a brother David Jacobs of Manesquan, NJ, six grandchildren Russell Emons Jr. and his wife Linda, Christopher Emons and his wife Lisa, Michael Emons, Darin Emons and his wife Kathy, William Fitzner and AnnMarie Fitzner. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and was predeceased by a son William Fitzner Jr., her eight siblings, and a grandson Jeffrey Fitzner.
