

He was born on February 4, 1951 in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late Frederick Robert Perkins and Josephine (Bronson) Perkins of Wolcott. Fred was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 677, and worked as an independent truck and heavy equipment operator. He lived in Wolcott for most of his life. He loved motorcycles, trucks, NASCAR, drag racing and Bike Weeks. He also loved playing the numbers and scratch tickets. Fred cared and did more for others than he did for himself. With his great personality, witty humor, he was full of life and lit up every room that he walked into.
Besides his mother of Wolcott, he leaves two sons, Frederick Robert Perkins III of Higganum, Brian Joseph Perkins, a grandson Brian Joseph Perkins Jr. two brothers William and Richard Perkins, and a sister, JoAnn Perkins all of Wolcott.
Fred’s life will be celebrated with a Memorial Service at 7PM on Thursday, February 6th at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott. Memorial calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. Visit www.dellavecchiafh.com for online tributes and directions.
