Gabrielle Testa

WOLCOTT- Mrs. Gabrielle (Beaudry) Testa, 91, devoted wife of the late Peter J. Testa, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at the VITAS unit at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born in Lewiston, ME on May 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George and Amarilda (Sirois) Beaudry. She graduated from Leavenworth High School and the Bristol Hospital School of Nursing. She had worked for the VNA in Waterbury, and previously, was a dispatcher for the Wolcott Police Dept. A Wolcott resident since 1954, she wintered in New Port Richey, FL for many years. She and her husband were among the original founding parishioners of St Pius X Church where she served on the Altar Society and the Ladies Guild. She was an avid reader and a creative cook, but most of all, she was the loving nucleus of her family.

Gabrielle leaves her children Robert G. Testa and his wife Roseann of Easton; Amy Cole and her husband Dennis of Wolcott; Nanette Boinay and her husband Paul; Cyndi Fedewa and her husband David, all of Milton, MA; Peter J. Testa, Jr. and his wife Cyndi of Wolcott; two sisters Marguerite Ostuno and Doris Maglio and her husband Donald. She is also survived by Marlene Braren and her husband David; twelve grandchildren: Ronald and Michael Legere, Adam Testa, Deane and Paige Lambros, Ryan, Christopher and Warren Boinay, Alyssa (Boinay) Berry, Aaron and Elise Testa, and Rebekah Fedewa and fifteen great grandchildren.

Gabrielle’s family would like to acknowledge the staff at Abbott Terrace and and VITAS for their compassionate care.

A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9AM at St. Pius X Church 525 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott.
