George W. Godin

Born in Waterbury on September 3, 1919, he was the son of the late Louis and Ida (Chartrand) Godin.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union local 677 and was employed by Associated Transport Co. for over 35 years. In the 1930’s he worked for the 1195th Company of CCC in Hamden.  He was a parishioner at St. Maria Goretti Church since 1975 where he served as an usher.  A Wolcott resident for 57 years, George enjoyed hunting and fishing.  

Besides his wife of 64 years, he is survived by his son Raymond and his wife Janet Godin of Quincy, WA, a daughter Sharon and her husband Larry Beasley of Kennesaw, GA, brothers Robert Godin of MD, Louis Godin of Wolcott, Richard Godin of NC, a sister Joan Chaney of CA, five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by  two sisters and three brothers.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 25, 2008 at 10 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1300 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott.  There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home in Wolcott is assisting the family with arrangements.
