George Gress

WOLCOTT- George E. Gress, 93, of Briarwood Rd., died Friday at Wolcott View Manor. He was the husband of Patricia (Hoops) Gress for the last 67 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 18, 1913, he was the son of Adam and Louise (Glas) Gress. He moved to Wolcott in 1955 and worked for the Harvest Bakery in Bristol with his brother Frank for over 40 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1010 in Bristol and a parishioner of St. Pius X Church.

          Besides his wife of 67 years, he is survived by several nieces and nephews in both CT and New York. He was predeceased by six brothers.

          Funeral will be Monday 9:30 AM from DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to St. Pius X Church for a Mass at 10AM. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 PM.
