George C. Jones

Born in Burlington, NJ on December 20, 1923 he was the son of the late Daniel and Sarah (Norris) Jones. He served in the US Air force during WWII as a flight engineer. He was a retired employee of the Federal government serving for over 35 years.

George loved spending time with his family and friends and was extremely proud of all his grandchildren.

Besides his wife of 63 years, he is survived by a son Robert and his wife Beverly Jones of Chagrin Falls, OH, his daughters Lynne and her husband Gary Smith of Londonderry, NH, Sarah and her husband Joseph Ficaro of Southington, his 10 grandchildren, Patrick, Brendan and Bridget Jones, Christopher Wroblewski, Matthew, Kevin and Meghan Smith, Nicholas, Justin and Ashley Ficaro and his cherished great grandson Kason Jones. He was predeceased by a sister Ruth Leeds. The family would like to thank the staff at the Summit at Plantsville for the compassionate care given to their parents.

Funeral Tuesday 10:15 AM from DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington to Mary Our Queen Church for a Mass at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will be in St.Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
