George D. Watson

Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on April 20, 1921 he was the son of the late George and Ruth (Folgeberg) Watson Sr.  He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Vicksburgh which took part in the Iwo Jima and Okinawa campaigns. He retired from New Departure in Bristol and resided in Wolcott for the last 10 years. George enjoyed woodworking and was an avid UCONN basketball fan.

George is survived by four sons Robert Watson of Atlanta, GA, Dale Watson of West Hartford, Donn and his wife Joan Watson of Bristol, David and his wife Suzanne Watson of East Windsor, a step-daughter Lee and her husband John DiCorpo of Middlebury, a daughter-in-law Tricia Tanguay of Bristol, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 11 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Spring Burial with military honors will be in Woodtick Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 AM.
