She was born June 6, 1918 in Summit, NJ daughter of the late Abram B. and Helen (Farren) Nelson. Mrs. McDermott was a parishioner of St. John of the Cross in Middlebury.
She is survived by 3 sons, James A. McDermott of Summit, NJ, Edward N. McDermott of Mason, OH and Robert B. McDermott of Montibello, CA, a daughter Edith Fanton of Hartford, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday 9-10 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury. Burial will be Monday at St. Teresa of Avilla Cemetery in Summit, NJ.www.dellavecchiafh.com
