Herman Peltzer

Born in Southington on Jan. 20, 1922 the son of the late Rudolph and Emily Peltzer. He was a U.S Air Corp Veteran of WWII, serving as a Tail Gunner Staff Sergeant with the 490th Bombardment Group.

Prior to his retirement 25 years ago he was employed by Jacobs Manufacturing in West Hartford. Mr. Peltzer was a Life member of the BPOE Elks lodge #1010 in Bristol, a member of the American Legion Post #20 in Terryville, a past member of the German Club, the Pequabuck Political and Social Club.

He is survived by four daughters, Christine DelMonaco and her husband Frank, of Southington Carol Bartlett and her husband Larry of Meriden, Catherine Irish and her husband Buddy and Diane Garry all of Southington, a sister Ida Biscoe of Terryville, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and several cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter Sandra and his first wife Ida.

The Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington Burial with Military honors will be in Peacedale Cemetery in Bristol. Calling hours will be Tueday March 14, 2006 from 5-8 p.m.
