
He was born in New Britain on July 30, 1919 the son of the late Joseph and Concetta (Gioni) Longo.
He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII he had received the American Theater Metal and the Victory Metal.
He served as a supernumerary on the Plainville Police Department during the 1950's and 60's. He retired from Marlin-Rockwell in Plainville in 1976.
He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
He is survived by a brother, Anthony Longo of Kensington, and two sisters, Mildred Gasparini of Plainville, and Ida Bombaci of Rocky Hill also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Bastisto and Theresa Tata.
A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington, Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends and relatives may gather for remembrance on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St.
