Johanna was born in Poland on April 27, 1927.
Prior to her retirement she was employed by Emhart in New Britain. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzle building but most of all she was devoted to her family. Johanna was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church.
She is survived by her 4 sons and their spouses, Edward and Diane Makles of Ellington, Jesse and Joan Makles of Southington, John and Nancy Makles of Newington and Jerry and Marcie Makles of Southington. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Peter Kowalczyk and sisters Maria Kowalczyk and Frieda Ciechan.
The funeral will be held on Monday November 24 at 10:30 am at St. Dominic Church 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9-10 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
