
Southington- John “Jack” Noble Sr. 83, of 49 Stuart Dr., passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at the Farmington Care Center after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Shirley (Griffin) Noble.
Born Aug. 19, 1925 in Meriden, son of the late Maxwell and Florence (Burkhardt) Noble Jr. He retired from General Electric after 30 years.
John was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy. John was a member of the First Congregational Church where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the American Legion Kiltonic Post # 72 and was an avid matchbox collector.
He is survived by 2 sons, John Noble Jr. of Southington and Thomas Noble and his friend Roanna Gehrs of OH, a granddaughter Jessica Noble, a brother Richard Noble and his wife Shirley of ME & FL, 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Griffin of Bristol and Priscilla Griffin of Southington, a special friend Judy Wardwell of Winsted, along with “Sadie” his loyal companion, several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to ICU and staff at Bradley Memorial Hospital for all the care given to him while there.
The funeral will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church 37 Main St. Southington. Burial will be at South End Cemetery with Military honors. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Donations may be made in his memory to the Animal Rescue Foundation Inc., P.O.
