John Richard Sunbury

He was born on Nov. 28, 1963, the son of Irene (Piquette) Sunbury of New Britain and the late Richard Sunbury. He was employed by the Aqua Turf Club a property manager. John was the Detachment Commander and a member of the Sons the American Legion, Kiltonic Squadron #72. He was a member of the Falcon Nest # 307, the Sons of Italy Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and he was an auxiliary member of the V.F.W. in New Britain and The American Legion Department Color Guard.

In addition to his mother and wife he is survived by his children, Elizabeth Sunbury and boyfriend Raymond Halpin, Samantha Sunbury, Christopher Sunbury, and Victoria Rose Sunbury all of Southington, a grandson Aiden Halpin, two sisters Cheryl Doyle of Terryville and Suzanne Brown of North Stonington.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
