John Zigmont

Southington- John A. Zigmont, 90 of East St, passed away on May 17 2011 at HCC Bradley Campus. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Shirley (Atwater) Zigmont. John was born on May 6, 1921 in Kensington, and was the son of the late Joseph and Eva (Ansavitchco) Zigmont.

John worked for many years at Lander Mfg. Co, and then worked a farm on Flanders St. in Southington that he owned. He also worked for Pratt and Whitney in Southington where he retired after 30 years. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and loved to garden and be outdoors.

John is survived by his son Jeffrey B. Zigmont and his partner Bonnie McLean of East Hampton, a granddaughter Kathy Zigmont of Marion. a great grandson Brandon Robinson, a sister Marion Green of Newington, and a brother Paul Zigmont of Cromwell along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers Joseph, Edward and Michael Zigmont along with a sister Ann Zigmont Tunkias. John was also predeceased by sister-in-law Ellen Zigmont and Brother-in-law Jack Green.

The family would like to thank John?s caregivers Beata Haraszkiewicz and Mirka Wozczyna who took excellent care of him during his illness along with Companions and Homemakers for their weekend care.

Services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. in Southington. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
