Joey was a High School Graduate of HC Wilcox Tech and went on to become a nationally registered EMT and Connecticut Hazard Materials Operational Firefighter Volunteer for Southington FD Company 2.
With determination and strong will, Joey wanted to pursue a career in the Mental Health/Social Work field. He completed his Bachelor of Arts/Psychological Science degree at UCONN in 2021 and was currently pursuing his Masters in Social Work at St. Joseph’s College.
Joey lived life in worry and fear about the way his mental illness was perceived by society. His struggles blocked his mind, preventing the love of his friends and family from providing any sense of comfort or confidence from reaching him.
We cherish all of the fond memories of his childhood joys, specifically family vacations in his favorite place, Wildwood, NJ.
Joey was predeceased by his dad, Giuseppe Barbagallo, Uncle, Gerald Mendelsohn and beloved Cousin, Robert E. Wainer, Jr.
He leaves his mom, Mary Warner Barbagallo, Sister, Karen (Chuck) Raymond, Brother, Steven (Rhonda) Barbagallo, Sister, Paula (Ralph) Warner, Sister, Amelia (Michael) Nathanson, Sister, Angelica (JJ) Wernicki, Aunt, Linda Mendelsohn, Aunt, Ruth Warner, Aunt, Paula Warner (Ed) and Uncle, Ralph Warner (Linda). Joey also leaves behind many close cousins and second cousins.
