Joseph J. Grieco

Born Nov. 17, 1950 in Southington son of the late Joseph J. Grieco Sr. and the late Sylvia (Burgess) Grieco Drzewiecki. He was owner and operator of J & J Package Store Inc. in Bristol. Mr. Grieco was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and was stationed on the USS Littlerock as a radio operator.

He was a member of the Bristol Swedish Social Club, the Bristol Polish American Citizen Club, and was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast.

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Lisa (Grieco)Barbati and her husband Domenic of Bristol, a son Joseph J. Grieco III of Southington, 2 brothers, Anthony Grieco and his wife Donna of Deltona, FL and Thomas Grieco and his wife Paula of Stafford, VA.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Cemetery with Military honors. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Assoc., 306 Industrial Park Rd. , Suite 108, Middletown, CT 06457 or the National Kidney Foundation, 920 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, CT 06107. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
